The city of Udaipur was the founder by its one of ruler Maharana Udai Singh II and it was established as the capital of the Mewar region of Rajasthan. Due to the Mughal Emperor Akbar invaded and capture the fort of Chittor, Udai Singh was moved to this new capital region of Mewar in 1568 and named it as Udaipur.
